Two Sisters. One Kitchen. A Whole Lot of Southern.
Southern Sisters Cafe is exactly what the name says — a restaurant built by two sisters who grew up cooking for family and decided the rest of the world deserved a seat at the table too. Carol Dolan and Nancy Cannon, both born and raised in Florida, came to the business the old fashioned way: cooking and baking for their large family of seven siblings from the age of fourteen, and continuing that culinary tradition through years of working in restaurants in Vero Beach and Satellite Beach.
When the time came to open their own place, the answer was simple. Call it what it is. Southern Sisters Cafe. Put together a menu that would appeal to everyone — North and South alike — and cook the kind of food that people actually want to eat.
"The food and the service are very important, but if you're not having fun at the same time, we're missing something."
— Carol Dolan, OwnerCooking From the Heart
The menu at Southern Sisters reflects exactly who the sisters are — generous, unpretentious, and deeply rooted in southern tradition. With more than 50 items on the menu, there's something for everyone. And in true family fashion, many of the dishes are named after friends, customers, and relatives — because that's who they're really cooking for.
Breakfast is served all day long. The lunch menu is a rotating display of southern classics — sandwiches, salads, and hot meals made fresh every day. Daily specials change throughout the week, with different meats, vegetables, and sides rotating in so there's always something new to look forward to.
The steam table tells you everything you need to know. Mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, fried okra, green beans, butter beans, squash dressing — the kind of sides that take time and care to do right, and that's exactly how they're made here.
